Mermaid tear ring, size L RARE

£55.00
Sold Out

This was a lucky find and very rare! This beautiful turqouise mermaid tear , appears glows under any light.

This piece shines on its own, I have set it in 100% recycled silver on a D shape band and I have hand polished it to a mirror finish.

Each sea glass piece is so different making the ring unique, if you would like something similar crafting in a different size, shape, style or colour pop us a message and we can work with you to create something special :)

All our sea glass is beachcombed from up and down the Torbay coastline.

Why is it a mermaid tear?

There is a lot of mythology out there with regards to mermaids and seaglass... Mermaids in the main are considered lucky, with stories of them saving sailor and rescuing sea creatures. Some older stories include; if a mermaid fell in love with a pirate / sailor, then a jealous Neptune would banish the mermaid into the depths of the seas. Her tears are said to wash ashore as sea glass, or mermaid's tears.

I once got told of a spiritual meaning to mermaid tears, which I chose to believe. It is thought to have a spiritual significance since it serves as a reminder of the journey that each of you must take in life. I like this thought. I too have a mermaid tear ring which I wear as a reminder of how far I have come and how much is still ahead of me.

All our items can be made completely bespoke to you, you can purchase one of our beautiful handcrafted pieces from our sea glass range crafted by me, or you can post your own piece of seaglass to me.
