Welcome to BellEve Seaglass

Hello!

Hi and welcome to BellEve Seaglass.

My name is Charlotte and my passion is all things sea, beach and mermaid related! I am fortuante enough to live in the wonderful English Riviera, with its breathtaking coastlines rich with history and treasures!

My family loves walking the dogs on the beach, treasure hunting for pirate glass and I also enjoy open water swimming all year round with the most amazing people.

There is something special about finding seaglass washed up on the beach, taking it home and creating a one of a kind piece of jewellery.

My daughters in particular help me collect seaglass and have lots of imaginative suggestions for what we can do with it! I particularly love working with local seaglass as I can take it straight back to the workshop, where I can get on to designing a piece that will highlight the specific colours and shape of each individual piece.

I have always had a coastal theme to my work as I love the sea and have always loved the Torbay coastline. I really enjoy handcrafting pieces which highlight the local sealife too, from Sammy the seal, the shy short nosed seahorse, dog fish and dolphins!

My aim is to bring a bit of the beautiful sea life to you in a versatile and eye-catching piece of jewellery.

If you love what I do but you can’t see exactly what you are looking for, then please do get in contact with me so we can look at different options, unique to you.

What is seaglass?

Seaglass is broken glass that has been weathered, shaped and smoothed by the sea or in some cases lake. It is the product of both nature and human activity, as it is made from discarded glass that is tumbled by the waves and currents.

More excitingly it can be found on beaches all around the coastline of Torbay and indeed Britain. If you are really lucky you can find mermaid tears and pirate glass too.

Seaglass is very varied in shape, colour, size and texture. Some of it dates back 100s of years. Some more recent finds still bare the hallmark of a well known beer and needs to be surrendered back to the sea!

Some of my favourite pieces so far have included a hand blown white bottle piece… How do I know its hand blown? You can tell by the thickness of the glass, the irregular bubbles set in the glass and the weight of it…Yes I really am obsessed with the history behind each piece.

Do you have your own special piece of seaglass?

Then please do get in touch and I can make something with your piece of seaglass. I do not charge extra for this service, I base all my prices around the weight of silver used and the time involved to create it. I want to ensure you get the most value for your money. It would be my pleasure to make something unique and personal to you.

I love making jewellery, but I also think it is important to do as much as I can to be eco friendly and sustainable . Seaglass is sourced locally and recycled into different pieces of jewellery. I use as many recycled materials as possible in my designs, including the silver. As my company grows, it is important to me that I retain eco friendly values at our heart.

My business cards, gift boxes, postal packages can all be recycled at home.

I will continue to source the best environmentally friendly materials possible for BellEve Seaglass so you can feel assured that the jewellery you are buying is ethical sourced and sustainable.

I really hope you like what you see. I pride myself on creating affordable, durable pieces, full of my love for the craft of silver and sea!

Happy shopping and I hope to see you soon.

Any questions please do get in touch.
